Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a therapeutic technique that targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue in the body. It employs slow strokes and firm pressure to alleviate tension and pain, particularly in areas with chronic aches or muscle tightness. This form of massage is beneficial for those recovering from injuries, as it helps to break down scar tissue and reduce inflammation, promoting faster healing. Deep tissue massage not only offers physical relief but also aids in stress reduction, providing a sense of relaxation for the mind.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is a targeted massage therapy designed to help athletes or active individuals. It uses various techniques to manipulate muscles and soft tissues to improve performance, recovery, and prevent injuries.

Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic massage is a form of massage therapy that goes beyond relaxation. It uses targeted techniques to address specific muscle tension, pain, and injuries. A therapeutic massage therapist will employ various methods, like kneading, stroking, and trigger point therapy, to manipulate your soft tissues and promote healing. This can lead to a variety of benefits, including pain relief, improved flexibility, reduced stress, and even faster healing from injuries.

Relaxation Massage

Unlike its therapeutic cousin, relaxation massage focuses on de-stressing and unwinding. Imagine a full-body sigh of relief. The therapist uses long, smooth strokes with lighter pressure to ease muscle tension and soothe aches. This can help to calm your nervous system, improve sleep quality, and leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. It's a perfect way to melt away the worries of the day and promote overall well-being.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial release is a massage technique that focuses on the fascia, a web-like connective tissue that surrounds and supports your muscles throughout your body. When fascia gets tight or restricted, it can contribute to pain and limited mobility.

Cupping

In this practice, I place special cups on the skin to create suction, which promotes healing by increasing blood flow and relieving muscle tension. This technique can be used for various purposes, including pain relief, inflammation reduction, and overall relaxation. Clients report benefits from the therapy, such as improved well-being and deep-tissue massage effects.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger point therapy is a technique aimed at relieving pain in muscles by targeting specific tight areas known as trigger points. These trigger points can feel like knots and often cause pain beyond the spot itself. Through applied pressure or other methods, trigger point therapy aims to release the tension in these knots, improve blood flow to the area, and ultimately reduce pain and stiffness.

Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular therapy is a specialized massage approach that goes beyond relaxation. It combines postural assessment with techniques like trigger point therapy and myofascial release to address the underlying causes of pain. By targeting tight muscles, knots, and restricted fascia (the connective tissue around muscles), neuromuscular therapy aims to improve balance between your nervous system and muscles, ultimately promoting pain relief, better movement, and increased flexibility.

Dry Needling

Dry needling tackles muscle pain by using thin needles inserted into specific tight spots called trigger points. These points can cause pain beyond their location. Unlike acupuncture, dry needling doesn't involve energy meridians. The needle stimulates the muscle, potentially causing a twitch, which helps relax the tight area, improve blood flow, and ultimately reduce pain and stiffness.

On-Site Event / Corporate

Corporate massage therapy brings the clinic directly to your office or event! This service provides on-the-spot relief to employees or attendees. They typically offer short, focused massages like chair massages in a convenient and comfortable setting, allowing people to unwind, recharge, and reduce stress without leaving the venue. (By arrangement only. Please contact me to discuss.)

Robert, Christchurch

Hayley has recently started working out of her studio in Prestons Park and I went for my first session today (after seeing her advert on one of the local Facebook groups).

On such a cold and miserable morning, her studio was lovely and toasty warm. She made me feel really comfortable and relaxed. Her pressure was lovely and I came away feeling really refreshed after the one-hour massage session.

I would recommend her to anyone looking for a relaxation massage or therapeutic massage.

I only wish that I had stayed longer so Ill have to go back again.
